Mother’s Day Brunch
We love Mother’s Day! It’s a time to celebrate everything our mom’s have done for us, and we can’t think of a better way to mark the occasion than to treat mom to a fabulous Mother’s Day brunch!
A handful of Laguna Beach restaurants have created special Mother’s Day menus meant to tempt the palate of most any mom, so show her how much you care by treating her to one of these marvelous meals.
We love French 75 for their creative cocktails and their Perfect 10 menu (complete gourmet meals for $10), but now we love them even more because of their fabulous three-course prix fixe Mother’s Day menu served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For only $40 per person, chose from a variety of appetizers such as Butter Poached Lobster Salad Beef Carpaccio, Warm Spinach Salad, Roasted Tomato Bisque with Dungeness Crab Salad or Grilled Quail. Next select an entrée from such delicacies as a French Omelet with Roasted Asparagus, Organic Egg Frittata, Grilled Colorado Lamb Chops, Duck Confit Hash or Prime filet Benedict. Finish your meal with a choice of desserts: Petite Souffle, Tahitian Vanilla Bean Brulee, Blueberry Lemon and White Chocolate Bread Pudding, or a Trio of Artisianal Cheeses. Montage Resort is the pinnacle of seaside resorts, with food to match. For this Mother’s Day, three different experiences are available. The Grand Ballroom serves a 12-station brunch 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. that has just about everything you could want in a brunch—and more! We’re particularly excited about the sushi and caviar station, and the seafood display. Dine while a live jazz trio provides entertainment. The brunch includes a complimentary keepsake photo and a special gift for mom. Cost is $95 per person, or $40 per child 4 – 12.
Two more options at Montage: Studio Restaurant serves a five-course Chef’s Tasting Menu from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. that is $125 per person or $200 per person with wine pairings, while The Loft has a four-course prix-fixe menu for $85 for adults or $30 per child that includes a glass of sparkling wine plus choice of appetizer, entrée, cheese and dessert.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mozambique – famous for bringing the tastes and smells from the beaches of Mozambique to Laguna Beach – offers a special Mother’s Day menu featuring 10 signature entrees such as Loch Duart Salmon, Lobster, Peri-Peri Prawns or Chicken, and Vegetable Curry, a selection of breakfast items including a Crab Omelet and smoked salmon, and desserts. Chef Lindsay Smith-Rosales is preparing a lavish brunch with a variety of fruits, cheeses, pastries, breakfast items (including Lobster and Crab Omelet) and lunch entrees, all for only $49 per person, or $19 for children 2 – 12. At Sapphire, Chef Azmin Ghahreman serves global market cuisine that strikes a balance between comfort food and innovative, creative tastes. This is reflected in his prix fixe Mother’s Day menu that features Jumbo Shrimp Nicoise, choice of seven entrees including Crunchy Nutella French Toast Panini and Salmon Puttanesca, and choice of three desserts. For over 20 years Sorrento Grille has been one ofLaguna Beach’s most iconic restaurants. The creative new American cuisine menu of Chef Ryan Adams is inspired by the “farm to fork” philosophy with an emphasis on rustic, flavorful, wood-fired cooking over a blend of fruitwoods, oak and grape vine cuttings. The Mother’s Day menu is simple yet reflects Chef Ryan’s sensibilities. Appetizers include Pea Soup with Poached Lobster or Potted Smoked Salmon, while entrees include Crispy salmon, Warm Tuna Nicoise and Grilled steak Salad. Treat mom to a special 3-course Brunch Menu created by Executive Chef Jeff Armstrong and Pastry Chef Ryan Velilla. Menu details were not available, but you can bet that with these two amazing chefs involved, the cuisine will reign supreme. Brunch is served 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $60 per person.
